Yellow Hinkelhatz Pepper - (Capsicum Annuum)

Also known as Yellow Chickenheart Peppers.  Originally cultivated in the Pennsylvania Dutch area of Lancaster, PA for over 150 years.  Traditionally used for pickling, making pepper vinegar and hot sauce.  They are small fruits about 1.5 inches long and shaped like chicken hearts.  The two-foot-tall plants produce a prolific amount of cold tolerant peppers.  Ripen from green to yellow.  There is also a red and orange variety but yellow is the more common strain.

Heat level:  40,000-50,000 SHU - Hot.

Flavor:  Fruity and juicy.
