Aji Charapita - (Capsicum chinense) - Seeds
The Aji Charapita is a stunning and one-of-a-kind pepper that every gardener should grow. Known as the "gold of the jungle," this tiny gem once held the title of the most expensive pepper in the world!
Native to the lush jungles of northern Peru, this wild and bushy plant produces an impressive bounty of small, vibrant Tepin-like peppers—each only about 0.25 inches in size. Recently cultivated for commercial use, the Aji Charapita is prized for its tropical, fruity flavor that adds a unique twist to salsas, sauces, and more.
Don’t let its size fool you! This little chili delivers a quick, intense burst of heat that surprises and delights, subsiding just as quickly to leave you craving another. With hundreds of these fiery fruits growing on each wide, bushy plant, you’ll have plenty to enjoy all season long.
Add some exotic charm to your garden and elevate your culinary creations with the unforgettable Aji Charapita!
Heat level: 50,000-100,000 (SHU) Scoville Heat Units – Very Hot.
Flavor: Fruity and Citrusy.
I can't review what I don't have 🤷🏼 email them once and got a response, still didn't get them and now I've emailed and no response. Ordered three different packs of seeds and it sucks cuz I actually really wanted these ones. I hear this place is great so it's kind of disheartening
Hi Salena,
I’m really sorry your order took such a frustrating turn. We did respond to your initial email and filed a USPS Missing Mail request shortly after. Unfortunately, the package stalled in transit and didn’t move past the Charlotte facility. We were out of town for a few days and didn’t get to reply right away, but we sent out a full replacement on May 7th.
We know how much these seeds meant to you and appreciate your patience more than you know. We always aim to do right by our customers—even when USPS lets us down.
Thanks again for your support, and we hope to earn back your trust.
— Jason from Bohica Pepper Hut
I’m sure the seeds will be great, but they have been stuck in transit for two weeks, so I can’t give an accurate judgement about their quality.
This review is for the ordering process as I haven't planted the seeds yet. This is my first time ordering from Bohica Pepper Hut. Ordering is easy and my seeds arrived in a timely manner. The only reason it's a 4 star review is because I cannot find information on when/how to seed/sow and care info. I will continue to buy from them in the future though. They have such a wide variety of peppers I can't seem to find anywhere else.
I recently ordered 10 Aji Charapita seeds from you, and received them today. They were packaged with care, neatly folded with a growing guide, which other suppliers don’t usually include. Also, the 10 seeds actually look more like 20 or so (I did not count them!) - and that was a nice surprise! Looking forward to planting and transplanting time so I can tell you how these little beauties are doing in East Texas! Thank you very much. I will definitely order from BOHICA again. (Love the name, BTW!)
Ordering was easy and received them very quickly, looking forward to planting my seeds.
