Malawi Piquante Pepper - (Capsicum baccatum)
Also known as the Peppadew or the African Pickling Pepper it was discovered in 1993 in South Africa. The Malawi Piquante pepper is very sweet with a slight kick of heat. They were made popular in the culinary word by pickling and stuffing with cream cheese. The peppers are golf ball sized and have very thick flesh. Plants are easy to grow and can get extremely large at well over 5 feet tall. Very productive plants.
Heat level: Approx. 1,100 (SHU) Scoville Heat Units – Mild.
