The Hatch Lumbre was developed by Jimmy Lytle, son of Big Jim Lytle for whom the Big Jim variety is named. The Lumbre pods range from 4-6 inches in length and ripen from green to red. Plants will get 3 feet tall and is best to stake them up or use cages as the chiles are very heavy.
