The CPR pepper, a Capsicum chinense variety, was discovered by Butch Taylor as an accidental cross, resembling both the Carolina Reaper and 7 Pot Primo. Named as a playful acronym for "Carolina Primo Reaper," the CPR pepper is an extremely hot, dark chocolate-colored pod with a fruity, floral flavor profile. Though slow to grow and not particularly prolific, it reaches up to 4 feet tall and requires an extended growing season. Its burn profile is intense, focusing on the mouth, tongue, and roof of the mouth, making it a true superhot pepper.
