Black Bastard Yellow – (Capsicum chinense)

A new surprise from the Black Bastard line, this yellow variant emerged this past season and immediately stood out. Pods start nearly black, then fade into rich amber before finishing as a vibrant golden yellow marked with smoky yellow and black streaks. The elongated, bumpy shapes stay true to the lineage but with a striking new color profile. Plants grow 4–5 feet tall with dark purple foliage that contrasts beautifully with the glowing pods. Like the rest of the Black Bastard family, this variant is still stabilizing, so expect some fun variation along the way.

Heat level: 400,000 to 600,000(SHU) Scoville Heat Units – Very Hot.

Flavor: Earthy, sweet, and slightly fruity with a sharp, bright heat.
